Cervantes - Rio de Janeiro

It has been a grueling struggle to locate an Italian sub here in a cidade maravilhosa. They have the components: great bread, salami, mortadella, capicola. They serve them individually, but combining them into one divine sandwich. Asking around, I discovered the best sanduiche carioca can be found at Cervantes. Open until 6 am, Cervantes features lovely servers in white , dinner jackets gracefully delivering delicious sandwiches to drunkards, insomniacs, hookers, and tourists at nearly all hours of the day. Since 1955, Cervantes creates some of the best sandwiches available in Rio de Janeiro. With the suggestion of the waiter, I chose the house special: the filet mignon, cheese, and pineapple sandwich.
Besides not knowing how to say one bite, the first bite of the sandwich lived up to the hype. The beef was tender, juicy, and flavorful. The slice of quejio prato was enormous and creamy. The pineapple added a unique sweetness incomparable to any sandwich I have eaten before. Like a lot of things I have seen down here, the sandwich was fat, juicy, and I really just wanted to bury my face in it.  Surprisingly, the sandwich lacked an essential saltiness; otherwise, it would have been one of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten.
